Gemini Users Can Now Remove Watermarks, Here's How

Technology-Portfolio.Net - Google has officially introduced new flexibility for users of its artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Gemini.
Images generated through the Nano Banana generator can now be downloaded cleanly without the watermark or semi-transparent 'watermark' that usually appears in the bottom-right corner.
This decision was made after some users complained that the visual aesthetics of its generated results were less clean than those of competing AI models, such as ChatGPT.
So, how does it work? The option to disable this visible watermark is being introduced through a new settings menu that is gradually rolling out across the Gemini and Flow ecosystems.

Google also confirmed that a similar feature will soon be coming to the AI Mode feature on Google Search.
Applies to Video and Music
This step turns out not to apply only to image formats. Google is expanding its invisible-watermark-free policy to other types of multimodal content:
- Video: Video content created using Gemini Omni can now be downloaded without a visual logo.
- Audio/Music: Musicians or creators who compose songs via Google Lyria also have the option to remove watermarks from their audio files.
Even so, Google is still making one important exception. This visual watermark removal option will not apply in countries where the law requires physical labeling on every piece of AI-generated content.
Staying Safe with SynthID and C2PA Metadata
Although visible watermarks are now optional, that does not mean Google is ignoring AI transparency and ethics. The tech giant ensures that advanced security systems are still working fully behind the scenes.
Google continues to embed invisible digital watermarks based on SynthID technology as well as industry-standard C2PA metadata into every generated file.
This means that the provenance trail of AI content has not truly disappeared. Users can still verify the authenticity of media by asking Gemini directly.
If the image, video, or music is proven to have been created by artificial intelligence, the Gemini system will still be able to recognize and verify it accurately.
