Google Will Apply New Rules Regarding App Naming on the Play Store
Technology-Portfolio.Net - Google is compiling a list of apps with names and icons that are too long.

This followed the company's desire to make app names and icons more concise and accurate on the Play Store.

This regulation will facilitate the review process for taking screenshots and the video will be available at the end of this year.

Google details the rules, the policy will prohibit application developers from using tricks to get the attention of potential users.

Simply put, the developer should not cheat with non-to-the-point words.

The name of the later application may not use emoji. Except for the brand name, writing in full capital letters is not allowed.

Limited to 30 Characters

Then, the application title will be limited to 30 characters only. Including call-to-action words like 'download now' or 'sale' is not allowed.

This detail is an initial announcement before the company will detail related policies by the end of 2021.

Unmitigated, Google will not explicitly provide space on Google Play for applications that violate these policies.

Developers Need To Prepare Separate Descriptions

Separately, new rules regarding app preview descriptions will take effect from the second half of this year.

However, application and game developers need to prepare descriptions that are simple but contain sufficient information.

"Assets that do not meet our guidelines may not be eligible for promotions and recommendations on major Google Play platforms such as the App and Games homepage," said Google.

Microsoft Outlook Worldwide Error, What Causes It?
Technology-Portfolio.Net - Microsoft Outlook users worldwide are reporting a number of issues with text input and visibility in the email service.

"If you press 'new message' and type in the body text, no text will appear. But if you send it, the text will appear for the recipient," wrote one user.

"If you reply, you still can't see it unless you do a backspace. Very strange," complained another user.

This issue likely arose when Microsoft released Outlook version 2014 series 13929.20372.

Administrators reported that disabling automatic updates and rolling back to the previous version would work. Outlook Web Access (OWA) and access via telephone-based clients also do not appear to be affected.

Microsoft then officially advised users to access alternative protocols such as Outlook on the web or Outlook mobile as potential solutions in the meantime.

Investigating the Root Problems

Microsoft shortly thereafter said that Outlook was experiencing "email visibility issues," with reports of text disappearing after being inserted in a new message, and existing messages having no text at all.

"We are currently investigating an email message visibility issue in Outlook. Outlook on the web does not appear to be affected," said Microsoft.

Then, the company prompts the user to restart the Outlook client to apply the fix after it is accepted.

"We hope to restore service to affected users by May 12, 2021, at 3:00 UTC," said Microsoft.

Twitter Trials The Tip Jar Feature, Can Send Money To Favorite Accounts
Technology-Portfolio.Net - Twitter is starting to test the Tip Jar feature in the Android and iOS apps. As the name implies, this feature allows Twitter users to send money directly to their favorite accounts.

Currently this feature is limited to users worldwide who use Twitter in English. All Twitter users can send tips, but only creators, journalists, experts and non-profit accounts can activate this feature and receive tips.

To send money to a favorite account, simply go to their profile on the Twitter app and then tap the money icon next to their username. Accounts that have met the requirements can activate this feature via Settings to start receiving tips.

Twitter users on Android can also provide tips to their favorite accounts via the Spaces feature. Twitter itself has launched this Clubhouse-like feature to all users who already have more than 600 followers.

Twitter relies on external services to handle this transaction, namely Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal and Venmo. The company with the bird logo says they don't take any commissions on the tips given, so all users will receive in full.

Even though it's still in the testing phase, users are starting to see a lot of issues that Twitter has to address. As the @RachelTobac account reports, tipping recipients via PayPal can now see the tipping address.

In its latest update, Twitter acknowledged the problem. They said they would update their alerts and tipping Help Center to make it clear that other apps can share information between tipping givers and recipients on their terms.

Twitter promises to provide the latest details and updates in the near future. They will also expand the availability of this feature to more users and more languages.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite is Equipped With 44W Fast Charging
Technology-Portfolio.Net - The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite appears on the 3C certification page and reveals the device will have 44W charging capability.

Samsung is known to be launching two new tablets from a different series this year. One of them is the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite. Reportedly, the tablet will launch with the name Galaxy Tab S7 + Lite. This model recently appeared on the 3C certification website and revealed the capabilities of its charger.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will support 44W charging. However, you need to buy a charger separately if you want to experience this maximum power output. Because, even though it's still equipped with an adapter - unlike the latest flagship smartphone, Samsung only provides a 15W adapter in the purchase box.

The 5G model as the most advanced among the other two models is expected to carry an adapter with a larger voltage. While other reports suggest the 5G model's rendering will come with a dual camera setup on the back. This is fairly new, because usually Samsung tablets only have a single camera. Both cameras will most likely have depth sensors.

The render also reveals a selfie camera on the right bezel, a USB Type-C port at the bottom, along with the speaker. At Geekbench, this 5G variant appears with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC combined with 4GB RAM. The internal storage is probably at least 64GB. The 5G variant is believed to be the mainstay option among the three variants that the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will have. To note, the three variants include WiFi connectivity only ((M-T730), 4G variant (SM-T735), and a 5G option (SM-T736B / SM-T736N).

Technology-Portfolio.Net - Xiaomi is reportedly working on two new flagship phones. These devices are codenamed K8 and J18s. Both are expected to be Xiaomi's first devices with an under-display camera. Based on information from Digital Chat Station sources on Weibo, there have been leaks of the main specifications of the J18s cellphone.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold first launched in March as the company's first foldable phone. It is estimated that the J18s is the second foldable phone of them. The secret caption claims there are slight changes to the J18s as it bears support for a 90 Hz refresh rate.

The original Mi Mix Fold had a 90Hz external screen, while the inner screen only supported a 60Hz refresh rate. It is likely that the inner screen of the J18s foldable phone will also support a 90 Hz refresh rate. In addition, the upcoming phone is equipped with a triple camera configuration which includes a 108 MP main camera, a liquid lens with 3x optical zoom and an ultra wide lens.

However, the main feature of the new device is the completeness of the camera under the screen. Apparently, this device is likely to be the latest version of the Mi Mix Fold.

Last August, Xiaomi showed off its third-generation under-screen technology. They claim the technology allows the camera to see through the gaps in the sub-pixels of the screen. The top screen area of the camera can produce the same pixel density as any other screen. Thus, the screen will be able to camouflage the camera underneath perfectly. In addition, the front camera will be able to provide results similar to conventional front cameras.

The upcoming phone is equipped with a triple camera configuration which includes a 108 MP main camera, a liquid lens with 3x optical zoom, and an ultra wide lens.

Android Confirms Specific Processors For Google Smartphones
Technology-Portfolio.Net - Android insiders confirmed the news saying Google's new smartphone, the Pixel 6 will come with its own processor called Whitecapel.

Google is rumored to be launching a new smartphone with a special processor. The processor is referred to as the Whitecapel which will arrive on the new Pixel 6 smartphone. Reports from an Android insider, recently confirmed the leak.

As is well known, previous reports were received from 9to5Google and XDA Developer, which suggested the mention of Whitechapel in the Android Open-Source Project code. And an insider mentioned Google's chipset with the code number GS101. GS seems to be short for Google Silicon.

The processor is known to be being developed by Google with Samsung. Therefore, some experts speculate, this may be an upgraded version of some Exynos chips. Interestingly, an insider who confirmed this report said Samsung also makes processors for Xiaomi.

Whitecapel reportedly will have a 5nm fabrication and include 8 processor cores, of which 2 Cortex-A78 cores, a pair of Cortex-A76 cores, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. Meanwhile, the graphics accelerator is ARM Mali.

If Google actually installed a chip made specifically for its devices, then the smartphone would have a better performance. These include process refinement, photo quality enhancement, and optimal hardware and software components.

In addition, the Google Pixel 6 is predicted to come with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Another leak reveals that the device will be powered by the Ultrawide band which is usually used in tracking devices or a link between mobile devices and smart home devices.
